Blue Waters Kicks Off 2013 with a Bang!

2012 was a great year for Blue Waters. The hotel underwent some renovations, uplifting the restaurants’ decor, not to mention various other areas of it which have also been improved upon. Because of this it seemed only right that we bid goodbye to 2012 in style – and what better way to do that than getting all of our guests involved?

New Year’s Eve isn’t where the festivities began, however. During the run up to Christmas Blue Waters hosted cocktail parties, themed buffet nights and live entertainment for guests to enjoy. Guests also enjoyed massages with either a complimentary paraffin or moss massage. And on Christmas Day the hotel was visited by none other than – you guessed it – Santa Claus!

Usually, in the few days between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, people can become bored and start worrying about all the extra calories they consumed this season. However, at Blue Waters we made sure every day during the festive period was packed with activities and other fun things to do. Children could enjoy various indoor games during the day, whilst adults danced along to the live entertainment hosted every night. Some of Antigua’s greatest bands and musicians performed at the hotel, including Island Rhythm. There was also a cultural night, where guests could enjoy musicians playing in a band stand.

In the blink of an eye New Year’s Eve was upon Blue Waters, and the hotel was ready to celebrate. All the usual fun activities were hosted in the day, pleasing both the younger and older guests alike, and in the evening a special New Year’s Eve Gala a la carte meal was served. Guests were able to enjoy their sumptuous meal whilst listening to the evening’s entertainment, the Karisma band.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper New Year’s celebration without one vital ingredient: fireworks! As guests gathered outside, the night sky erupted in a hundred different colours, showering the ocean with shades of bright red and green. Guests cheered through the fireworks display, whooping as each one shot up into the sky, looking even more impressive than the last.

Spirits were high for both guests and staff as we counted down to 2013…and when the clock struck midnight, we continued celebrating!

Forming one giant conga line, everyone danced around the hotel, their laughter barely audible above the live music playing.

Later in the day, when the festivities were over, there didn’t seem to be a face in sight which didn’t have a smile on it.

And so, one final thing remains: a new year’s resolution. What will ours be? To make 2013 even greater than the year before.
