Football World Cup at Blue Waters
Blue Waters was proud to host the FIFA Football World Cup trophy as it arrived in Antigua on the 17th October. This was an incredible honour for everyone involved at the resort, and the occasion proved to be a huge success!
The trophy has been making its way across the world for the last month, and began the Caribbean leg of its tour at the beginning of October. It arrived in Jamaica first, and has since made its way to Antigua. When we were asked if we wanted to host the trophy’s presentation at Blue Waters, we jumped at the chance and immediately said yes!
We were delighted to host the organisers of Kennedys Club Limited, the official distributor for The Coca Cola Company in Antigua & Barbuda. It was their job to organise and oversee the Antigua and Barbuda leg of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, so we made sure they had everything they could possibly need.
After some contemplation, we decided to host the FIFA event in the Bartleys Restaurant. The restaurant’s graceful environment perfectly complimented the World Cup trophy’s magnificence.
A reception was held afterwards, where 150 guests were invited to participate in the festivities. Drinks and light fare was served, as the guests freely admired the trophy. There were also plenty of photo opportunities for Blue Waters staff to proudly pose with the trophy.
The key objective of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour is to build excitement for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2014, where football teams from all around the world compete for the much coveted trophy. Football is a wonderful way to generate excitement in communities, and demonstrates just how much of a positive impact it can have to different societies.
The event proved extremely successful and enjoyable, for both organisers and attendees of the tour. Blue Waters would like to thank Kennedys Club Limited and The Coca Cola Company for choosing the resort as the venue to host this leg of the World Cup Trophy Tour.
