When Is The Best Time To Visit Antigua

When it comes to planning your holiday, the weather can put a stopper in the works. After all, you don’t want to travel somewhere with the intention of reclining on the beach all day, only to have the heavens open up on you during monsoon season. There are other factors which can put a dampener on your holiday too, such as the school holidays, during which time travel fares shoot up and beaches become more crowded.

So, when is the best time to travel to Antigua?

The answer is: any time!

 

Antigua is the driest island in the Caribbean, with cool breezes in the winter. And here at Blue Waters, nestled in Soldiers Bay, our beaches are calm and warm; and even during the summer our air conditioned rooms are guaranteed to cool you down.

If you want to sunbathe when the island is at its hottest then you should travel between June and October.

However, if you’d like to visit Antigua when it’s slightly cooler then come during the winter months, when the island is graced with less humidity and heat with an average temperature of 26 Degrees Celsius . Cool trade winds blow in from the west, providing a wonderful and refreshing breeze.

One thing to consider when booking your holiday to Antigua is the seasonal festivities that occur throughout the year. Antigua Sailing Week, for example, is an occasion not to be missed by sailing enthusiasts. Taking place between the end of April and beginning of May, Antigua Sailing Week is one of the most popular events on the island and is definitely worth taking part in!

During July and early August, Carnival takes place, bringing Antigua to life. Colourful costumes, delicious food and vibrant music can all be enjoyed during this time, and is truly a unique and thrilling experience.

If you’re staying in Antigua during November, then you’d be welcome to take part in Antigua’s Independence Day on November 1st. Besides Antigua’s president delivering a humbling speech, there is also a costume parade to enjoy and plenty of food and music too.

So, no matter what time you decide to travel to Antigua, you’ll never be short on fun and exciting things to do – and the beaches are always ready and waiting!
